Mr. Hyde

Having visited Sassafras Farm last week put me in the mood to add to my “Farm Animal” series.  I took loads of new photos to work from so I will get started on those very soon.

Here is “Mr. Hyde”, an oil painting on canvas, measuring 8″x6″, that I painted from a previous trip there.  This painting, along with others in the “Farm Animal” series is available at Delilah’s on Main Street in Front Royal.

This chicken, painted by Linda Kusior, made it into the bathroom at the recent job we did in West Virginia.  He’s standing on top of the paper towel dispenser.

Olivia paints flags

Olivia did a terrific job painting the flags that circle the Washington Monument.  It looks fabulous! We will painting things like this at Art Camp.  Don’t forget to sign up your young artist ages 7-13.  The first week begins next week!  See more here.

Mr. Goose sent us off this morning. We’ll miss all our farm friends at Sassafras Farm.  Until next time.

Casper is done! I like it. We have one more full day of painting ahead of us. I’m anxious to see it finished.

This morning I am painting my favorite subject matter – dogs! Casper is a sweet, sweet yellow lab mix that loves us being here. I am working on him this morning then maybe Linda and I will take a break and go on a big garden tour in Charleston this afternoon.

Spent all day painting at Sassafras Farm yesterday with my good friend Linda. She’s a terrific painter and a great sport to take on this huge project with me.

Here’s Linda finishing up her painting of the Little Crooked Hen that she added at the end of the words I painted. These photos were made with my phone camera since that is the only way I have to post my blog here. I’ll do a wrap up next week with better photos when we are done.

And these chickens are Linda’s handiwork too. Aren’t they terrific?

We’re at Suzanne’s new Sassafras Farm getting the walls ready to paint. Stay tuned for our progress over the weekend. And check out more at www.chickensintheroad.com .

As you can see, it takes quite a bit of “stuff” to take a painting job on the road.  I’m packed to paint.  Now just to get there.  Stay tuned to watch the process of painting a few murals over the next few days.
