Painting with a Knife

Palette knife painting produces beautifully textured works of art. You can work in a totally abstract way as well as produce recognizable subjects. Plus it can be lots of fun. You can do it. Why not give it a try.
These are examples of some of the work you can do. Join us at the Paint Party in May to learn this technique. Information on the Paint Party and registration here.

Last Wednesday the kids tried their hand at palette knife painting. It was fun and they all did a great job. It’s exciting to experiment with something new and different. I decided to complete the demo painting I did with the kids so that we can offer an adult version of the palette knife class. A paint party coming soon….

Beautiful Flowers and Trees Benefiting Meals on Wheels

Mother-Daughter Painting

Works in Progress

Hard at Work Painting
Yesterday we had a great group painting at the Senior Center to benefit Meals on Wheels. Our Senior Center has a wonderful staff who provide a hot meal for seniors each day as well as a variety of activities for them.
There are many seniors in our community trying to survive on a small pension check each month. The Center helps them in so many ways. And they can use your help. Donate items…they need food stuffs, clothing, etc. They even could use knick-knacks that they use for Bingo prizes. So when you are cleaning out closets and basements this spring consider helping the seniors by boxing up some items for them. The smallest thing can go a long way to helping someone. And the staff at the Senior Center would welcome your help.
Hedwig

I painted Hedwig as a Harry Potter themed piece trying to come up with something we can do for a Harry Potter Paint Party that I have been asked to do. Turns out this one will be a little too difficult to do at a Paint Party so I will try to come up with something else. Good news is this one SOLD.
Keep watching for a Harry Potter Paint Party.

Twenty-two years ago today I lost my Mama. She was young…just 52 when she died of cancer. It was and still is the hardest day. For those of you who have lost your mom you understand. I know I will never stop missing her. She was a teacher so today as I teach my art classes I will be thinking of her and know that she is looking down on us smiling…
