wp-1593945684395.jpg I was recently commissioned by my brother-in-law to paint a pet portrait of his best friend’s Cavalier that they had just lost.  His name was Toby and he was a very successful show dog for several years.  In his retirement he kept his “dad” company.  I was told that the recipients loved the painting…and then I got this text …the kind of message that makes me love the work I do:

“Hi Kelly.  I just wanted to thank you for the portrait of Toby that Billy and Suzanne asked you do do for me.  Toby came into Lynnette’s and my life as a little fur ball that Lynnette bought unseen over the phone.  We knew early on that he was no ordinary dog.  He helped us get through the loss of our two sons and over time became like my third son.   I miss him dearly.
I didn’t mean to go on but hoped this would demonstrate how much this means to me.  You have a special gift and I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I wish you the best that life has to offer.”

Coming SoonThe Studio will resume offering classes and Paint Parties for limited numbers of painters beginning Saturday, May 16th with out Paint Your Pet’s Portrait session. Regular weekly adult art classes will resume meeting on Wednesday, May 20th from 10:30-Noon and 5:30-7. And Thursday class will begin meeting on May 21st from 2-3:30 pm. Evening Paint Parties are being scheduled and will limit the number of painters to 6 painters until the end of May. In June we will add a few more painters per session if we feel it’s safe to do so. We will continue to sanitize the surfaces and equipment. Painters are encouraged to take precautions by wearing face coverings if they prefer. People who are vulnerable or sick should stay home.  We want everyone to be safe but we also need to get our business going again.  We hope we will see you soon at a session at The Studio.  Click here to register for the Pet Portrait session… and watch for other classes and parties dates to be release in the next few days.  Thanks for everyone’s support during this unusual time.
