A few weeks ago Mia (on the left in photo) brought in a sock monkey that she had gotten. It sings!
We decided to have a photo shoot and took some pictures of sock monkey and painted his portrait. Good job girls.

I’m thrilled to have my work in Strasburg, VA, at Buggy B’s, a great little shop with furniture, flowers, and finishings! It’s at 239 E. King Street. Stop in next time you are in Strasburg or better yet, make a trip over to see the store. It’s worth the trip.
You can see part of my “Big Fruit” series in one photo right above the wine. Did I mention they have wine?! 🙂

A few weeks ago we started a Wednesday morning art class and I had several new students join me in their quest to learn to paint. And look at the great job they are doing. If you would like to paint remember that we meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 or Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 5:30-7 p.m. Just email me if you are interested at kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com. Hope to see your painting soon.

Meet Fancy. She’s a German Shorthair Pointer pup that belongs to some friends. I met her yesterday and you talk about cute!!!! She oozes cute.
Now meet Jade. Fancy is a member of her family and she wanted to paint a picture of her for her mom. We met yesterday for a lesson and she came up with this terrific painting! Great job!
And while Jade is only 7 years old, she is such a sweet and mannerly girl that she brought me a wonderful thank you note before we even started our painting. Adorable!

I often hear from people who say they would love to come to art class but their schedule just won’t let them do it during the week and would I please offer a weekend class. So I have put together the 2012 schedule of workshops that will be held on the weekends.
Take a look here at what is planned (or click on the 2012 Workshop tab above). We will do everything from floral to pets to abstract to Plein-air painting. Choose one or come to several. Let this be the year you develop your artistic abilities!

Olivia painted this beautiful Iris last weekend for her grandparents. She did a lovely job. She takes private lessons with me.
I have many young artists painters that I work with either in class (ages 7-12) or taking private lessons. Kids younger than 7 often do best with one on one instruction in art. If you have a budding artist, get in touch with me about signing them up for art lessons or class. They’ll love it! kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com
