Jacket Complete

20190803_130030.jpg The Sandys have completed the jacket.  Sandra Charles, on the left,  is a fabulous seamstress and she spent a few Fridays at Open Studio teaching Sandy Schwalb to sew.  The jacket was made with antique fabric given to Sandy by her aunt in New York City.  It’s beautiful but a little fragile with which to work so it was a challenge.  It  turned our terrific.  Nice work girls!

One of the most FUN ways to learn to sew is to make a Rag Quilt….which is just what we did at The Studio yesterday afternoon.  Just sewing straight lines has never been so cool!!!  Look at what you can make even if you have NEVER used a machine before.  We can help you be so creative.  Why not give it a try?  We have another class coming up on Sunday, February 25th.  And the best part is you don’t have to bring anything…just show up and we’ll have it all ready to go for you.  Click here to register.

Sunflower Quilts

Yesterday we made Sunflower Rag Quilts at The Studio.  What a beautiful project.  Everyone’s looks different as they all selected their fabrics.  This is a little more advanced than our beginner Rag Quilt (you can register for the next beginning rag quilt here) so you need a little experience to sew the flower.  We’ll be doing it again at the first of the year.  We are thinking of a daisy…either white or a pink gerber!
