A few years ago we added a session of “Sewing Camp” to our summer art camp series. It was popular right away. You can see these amazing rag quilts that these young people made during Sewing Camp. This year we added another session on August 1-2 and the morning session sold out! Wow! We were asked to add another session so more kids can learn to use a sewing machine so we did. The second session will also meet on August 1-2 in the afternoon. If you have a young person ages 8-16 that would like to learn to sew be sure to click here and register them as space is limited.

Last weekend we had a “Lazy Day” Pants sewing class at The Studio. These girls are learning to sew! They did a great job learning to make a pattern, cut the fabric and use a machine. Great work girls! Watch for more sewing classes for kids soon.

Yesterday we started our sewing camp for kids with two young people learning how to sew with a machine and by hand.  We made a pillow.  The kids chose their fabrics and we made beautiful reversible pillows.  And we got started on a rag quilt.  Stay tuned for those today!
