It’s World Series time.  The game last night was great.  Watching it made me think of the paintings I did for the Kickstarter project a few years ago – Painted Diamonds.  I painted all 30 Major League Ballparks in 30 weeks.  You can see and read more about that here.

Wrigley Field Home of the Chicago Cubs

Home of the Chicago Cubs

Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, turns 100 today.

When asked last year while I was painting the Kickstarter project – Painted Diamonds what is my favorite ball park to go see a ball game I said Wrigley Field.  If you haven’t been there you really have to go if you like baseball.  It’s a ball park – not a stadium.  It has an intimate feel about it.  According to where you sit you may have to lean around posts to see.  I love Wrigley.  It’s a great old park.

Happy Birthday Wrigley!

Baseball season has started and this year it feels really strange not to be painting the MLB parks like I was doing last year all during the season.  My Kickstarter project – Painted Diamonds was a lot of fun but kept me busy for 6 months painting those parks.  (Read all about it and see the paintings here.)

If you have a favorite team you can check the Painted Diamonds page to see if that painting is still available or order a print of your favorite field.

Opening Reception Pond Kids Opening Reception Pond CrowdThe opening last night for the Painted Diamonds show was a great success.  We had a nice crowd and while I didn’t have much of a chance to take pictures I did snap a few early during the evening with my phone camera.  I think some of my friends took more photos so hopefully I will get some more later.

The show will run through November 8.  Stop by to see it.
