It’s World Series time. The game last night was great. Watching it made me think of the paintings I did for the Kickstarter project a few years ago – Painted Diamonds. I painted all 30 Major League Ballparks in 30 weeks. You can see and read more about that here.
Many of the paintings were sold during the project but Citi Field (Mets) and Kauffman Stadium (Royals) are still available. Fans interested in a unique piece of baseballl art contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios for purchase information.
Painted Diamonds – Paintings of the MLB Parks are on display at the Warren County Community Center at 538 Villa Avenue. It is open Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Baseball season has started and this year it feels really strange not to be painting the MLB parks like I was doing last year all during the season. My Kickstarter project – Painted Diamonds was a lot of fun but kept me busy for 6 months painting those parks. (Read all about it and see the paintings here.)
If you have a favorite team you can check the Painted Diamonds page to see if that painting is still available or order a print of your favorite field.
Today is the opening day of the 2013 World Series and the opening day of the Painted Diamonds Art Exhibit. We hung the show yesterday at the Blue Ridge Arts Council in Front Royal and it looks great! It was a little strange to see six months of hard work all hanging together there. I still can’t believe it’s a reality.
Many thanks again to all the Kickstarter backers who made it happen. Your names are listed here on my blog and on the Kickstarter page. You made this happen. My appreciation to each of you for your belief in this project.
The Opening Reception is tonight from 6-8 p,m. Stop down at the Arts Council at 305 E. Main Street in Front Royal to see the exhibit and have some ball park food. Have a hot dog or maybe some cracker jacks and say hello. Hope to see you there.
We will be hanging the “Painted Diamonds-30 Parks in 30 Weeks” art exhibit today in preparation for the opening tomorrow. The reception will be tomorrow, Wednesday, October 23rd from 6-8 pm at the Blue Ridge Arts Council on Main Street in Front Royal. Please join us for the fun. Hot dogs, peanuts and Cracker Jacks for everyone!!!
