Yesterday we had Day 2 of Famous Painters Art Camp and we recreated Rene Magritte’s self-portrait, Son of Man. This is the first time we attempted this one at camp and didn’t they do an awesome job on it! Great work painters! We still have three sessions of camp left this summer along with one session of Sewing Camp so be sure to register your young painter for this fun experience. wp-1590141599136.jpgOur family that paints together returned yesterday to paint again before the kids head back to Kentucky.  They had a productive visit with their grandmother as they came three times to The Studio to paint some lovely works of art.  Yesterday they created these beauties.  Nice work guys….and come see me again next time you visit!

Coming soon….we will be having a Paint Party for Bold Expressive Portraits.  You know I’ve always said I’ll only do Pet Portraits because they don’t complain about how they look in the painting but I think these Bold Portraits are kind of funky and fun.  Don’t you think?  So start looking for a great photo of yourself or a family member or friend and let’s paint them.  Watch for a date soon.

We have Adult Art Classes every week on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  And the students are creating some amazing art here.  Take a look.  Michele just complete this fabulous self portrait that she has been working for a a few weeks.  And Beth Ann has just joined a class and this is her first oil painting.  Great work ladies!!!

Congratulations to Charlee, my art student who did this self-portrait as part of a contest at her school.  They chose one student from each grade and will be putting their portraits on the front cover of their yearbook.  Charlee won!

Charlee's self portraitOne of my private students, Charlee, had a school project of a self-portrait to do.  So we worked on it last night at her art lesson.  I think she did an excellent job.  She had to do the work herself.  So I helped with paint color suggestions to mix, etc.

She was excited with the finished painting and I was too!  I hope her school likes it too!  Good job Charlee.
