Remember back in December I worked with a group of young girls at E Wilson Morrison Elementary School called Club Hope. (Click here to see that.) The group works on encouraging self-esteem and communication. We did a Team Building project, painting several canvases that were joined to make a mural. Yesterday the kids painted a large canvas of the Super Moon. They loved working on a bigger canvas and their paintings turned out terrific! Nice work young painters.

We channeled Georgia O’Keeffe last night as we had our Famous Painter session. We recreated this beautiful Still Life, Peach and Glass, from 1927. Don’t they look great?! Nice work ladies. What an afternoon! We had a great group of painters that came out to try something new, something that challenged them in their painting journey. And boy, did they step up. Everyone stepped up; they soaked up the new information and did a great job. Beautiful work came out of our set-ups. Now we can’t wait till the next one. We’ll have another “Master’s Class” on Sunday, April 26th. Watch for more information and get ready to stretch your skills.

We had our large abstract painting class last night and these ladies didn’t come to play! They were ready with ideas and ready to create! And boy did they!!!! Amazing representational abstract pieces came out of last nights class. Here is a photo of Michelle’s at work and her finished piece.

Yesterday I got to help a group of real quilters create Barn Quilts. These ladies from Top of Virginia Quilters Guild. They meet in Middletown. We had a large group that came up with some beautiful colors and designs. AMAZING!
