It’s so much fun to watch paintings come to life as each painter makes decisions about color. I love how these are all so different….yet the same design. Very nice work everyone!

Expressive BranchesWe are rescheduling many of the classes we had to postpone due to the closing in March.  Join us now as we paint again with a limited number of painters for each session. We will continue to sanitize the surfaces and equipment. Painters are encouraged to take precautions by wearing face coverings if they prefer. People who are vulnerable or sick should stay home. We want everyone to be safe but we also need to get our business going again. We will paint the Expressive Spring Branches on Thursday, May 21st at 4 pm.  Click here for more info on the session and to register.

3 WinnersWe have three terrific classes coming up this week.  On Friday, we will be painting “The Old Gate” in a small format that includes the frame.  This will be a fun one to do and you will leave with a beautiful painting framed up and ready to hang …. or that will make a perfect Mother’s Day gift!  🙂 Click here to register for it. And then on Saturday we have the Cross Rag Quilt just in time for Easter.  Register now and get the pre-class instructions.  And then on Sunday we will be painting again in the Expressionist style with this terrific still life.  These are sooooo much fun to do and turn out beautifully.  Join us by clicking here.  Click on any of the links to read more and see the full photos of each project.  Hope to see you later this week.

What an afternoon!  We had a great group of painters that came out to try something new, something that challenged them in their painting journey.  And boy, did they step up.  Everyone stepped up; they soaked up the new information and did a great job.  Beautiful work came out of our set-ups.  Now we can’t wait till the next one.  We’ll have another “Master’s Class” on Sunday, April 26th.  Watch for more information and get ready to stretch your skills.

We have tons of fun with Paint Parties but some people have asked to take it a step above…in other words, they want to learn more rather than just copy the follow along paint party image.  With that in mind we are introducing the Masters Class.  Masters Class will provide more detailed information and teach techniques for those who want to not only paint but improve their skills. In our first session we will learn to develop a painting from a live set-up to create an Expressive Still Life. The set-up will include fruits and flowers….according to what is available at the time. (These photos show some of what we may have that day.) Click here to register and join us on Sunday afternoon, February 23rd from 1-5 pm to take your art to the next level.

20190801_171456.jpgSometimes I begin a painting and it gets set aside until I can get back to it…especially larger pieces.  That is what happened with The Window Sill.  I started this about 3 years ago after seeing a beautiful photo in Better Homes and Gardens of a blue green window sash and lovely flowers in a variety of pots and vases.  I found the canvas tucked away in the closet at The Studio when I was gathering canvases for the annual Anniversary sale (still underway) and decided to finish it.
