Painting for July 4th

Two New Students

Family Painting Together

Wed Family Paints Sometimes we get requests for family members to come to a regular weekly class to paint together especially in the summer when people have time or are in from out of town. Yesterday was one such case. These three ladies chose to paint the “Tree Swing” and there was lots of fun and laughs. They did a terrific job and can you believe a couple of them had never painted before. Awesome!

Color Mixing

We had our color mixing class on Thursday. To be a better painter you need to become a better color mixer. Knowing what your paints will do when you combine them will help you when you paint. Take time to “play” with your colors and learn what they will do.

Final Session with VIA

I had my final session with the Virginia International Academy students yesterday. This group has been such a bright spot for me. They have been receptive to trying new styles and techniques and have made some beautiful art. They told me they are anxious to take it home to China this summer for their families to see. Yesterday they wanted to paint a beach scene so we did a large canvas. Great work!
