We wrapped up this summer’s season of Art Camp with the beautiful Georgia O’Keeffe Calla Lily. Didn’t these young painters do fabulous work???!!! Great job! Now that camp is over we will be publishing a schedule of kid’s events for the rest of the year soon. Watch for it and bring your young painters to create some more wonderful work.
Kyle comes to paint on Thursday at the 2-3:30 pm class with his grandmother. We’ve enjoyed getting to know him and painting with him each week. Why don’t you join us and see just how creative you can be?! Contact Kelly at kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com for more information and to register. We have adult classes on Wednesday from 10:30-Noon or 5:30-7 pm and Thursday from 2-3:30 pm.
Nothing feels quite as good as getting your sewing space organized. It seems like it doesn’t take much time to get all scrambled and several times a year I have to take a day to get all the fabrics arranged again and tools put back in their places. It helps me to be able to find what I need. Lincoln seems happy about it. Now to start pulling some fabrics for the next project. WooHoo!
Here they are….the sewing campers Rag Quilts! Nice job everyone. You did a great job learning to sew. Now we will have to come up with a new class to keep you going. 🙂
Sewing Camp started yesterday with enthusiastic students. They made pillows and learn to sew with the machine and by hand. Great work everyone! Today they will finish their Rag Quilts and you can see them soon.
Eight years ago today we cut the ribbon and opened The Studio as a teaching studio on Main Street in Front Royal. What a day that was….and what an amazing 8 years that it has been! Who knew all the fun and creative things we would make…and who knew all the beautiful friendships that would form because of this creative place. We can’t thank everyone enough who has supported us in this endeavor. We love it and are so happy that many of you do too! Happy Anniversary to The Studio and here’s to several more years of making amazing things here!
Our 1 pm class for the Block of the Month sampler quilt just completed their final block…the Star of Virginia. NICE!!!! Aren’t they gorgeous???!!! Now next month they will begin joining them. The 4 pm class started joining theirs yesterday and they are coming together beautifully. Can’t wait for you to see them put together. But we’ll have to wait till next month. 🙂
We had great fun at Valley View Farms helping some new painters paint lavender. And they did great! A couple of them had never painted before and they jumped right in and created some wonderful work. Watch for another fun Paint Party to come out at Valley View Farms on Saturday, September 24th. The details will come soon….and it’s going to be sunflowers!
