These young painters created beautiful “Sea” paintings as part of our “Land and Sea” themed paintings for Art Camp. They did a great job. These 5-7 year olds did such good work these past two days. They were great listeners and wanted to paint rather than take a break! And notice Lincoln feels well enough to have his photo made with these kids. Yeah! There is space in a couple of sessions of Art Camp before the summer ends so check out the dates and themes here.

Yesterday we had a private party. It was a special one as Ty was visiting from Brooklyn with his “Virginia mom”, Kimberly. And their friend Josh joined in at the party too.
Ty is Kim’s “Fresh Air Fund” son. I learned from their website that “since 1877, The Fresh Air Fund, a not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer experiences in the country to more than 1.8 million New York City children from low-income communities. At Fresh Air camps in Fishkill, NY, and with volunteer host families along the East Coast and Southern Canada, Fresh Air kids learn new skills, discover talents, build confidence, make friends and have fun. During the school year, The Fresh Air Fund continues to support students through tutoring, mentoring and leadership programs.”
What a terrific program! And what a terrific thing that Kimberly is doing with these kids. Ty was delightful and told me about all the many things they have been doing since he’s been visiting in Virginia.

For the past several weeks Sophia has been working on a copy of a Japanese woodblock painting of the Wave. Her aunt requested that she do it for her so she worked really hard on it to make it very nice. And she did! Excellent work Sophia!

I thought with all the snow on the ground (again) that it might be nice to look forward to a warm day at the beach. Today’s painting is called Building Clouds and is an oil on canvas panel measuring 10″x8″ and is SOLD.
Enjoy the warm scene.
And as always, Wednesday is Art Class night. Anyone interested in learning to paint please give me a call and come join us for a fun evening.
