This week kids painted  a variety of subjects at The Studio from Seagulls to Mountains.  Didn’t they do an AMAZING job on these beautiful paintings?!?!!

Quilting as Art

A few weeks ago at a private Paint Party I saw my friend, Kathleen, that I haven’t seen in several years and as we talked about “what have you been up to” she shared with me that she had been doing more quilting with a group of friends.  Then she showed me this lovely quilt that they made.  The quilt is AMAZING.  But even more amazing than that is the fact that each quilter was given one section (a block) to create and all they were told was to do it in Fall colors.  Can you believe how spectacular it  turned out.  I can’t even imagine that they didn’t shop together for fabric or coordinate to make it this wonderful.  Great work ladies.  This is certainly a piece of art!!!  And thanks Kathleen for sharing this information with me so I could share it with everyone.

Remember a few weeks ago The River 95.3 held a Team Building exercise at The Studio?  (Click here to see it.)

Well, yesterday was phase 2…that is where I deliver the joined painting to them along with a print for each participant.  They were excited to see it  come in and helped with the hanging of the painting.  Nice work everyone.  It looks great!!!

You can find more information on Team Building here.

Thank-you-clipart-2-2Today I just want to say once again THANK YOU to everyone who has made The Studio a success.  When I first asked a handful of women to meet with me so I could bounce some ideas off of them about what I had in mind I never envisioned that it would be all of this.  I just thought a teaching  studio would be a great idea.

What I didn’t realize, and I don’t think anyone did, is that it  has turned into a gathering place for friends.  So  many new  friendships have come from  people meeting at various classes…or by getting to know different instructors.  We have created together, traveled together, learned together…and so much more!

So, thank you again for making my vision so much bigger than any of us could have imagined!

BP 1BP 5 CakeBP 3BP 4BP 6 LindaBP 2BP 7We had an amazing birthday party for The Studio yesterday….2 years!  We started this last year as we felt that it was a good opportunity to thank all the people who supported us throughout the year.  We offered several projects for people to make and take with them.

We love seeing everyone busy creating!  Thanks for another terrific year.  Looking forward to number 3!

A Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower PP 1Bridal Shower PP 3What a fun way to celebrate such a special event with friends…especially when many of these friends work at the Conservation Research Center here in Front Royal and they decide to paint Pet Portraits.  It was perfect.  And everyone laughed and enjoyed themselves so much as we celebrated the bride.  Then they left with beautiful paintings of their pets (or favorite animals because I am pretty sure that the one lady doesn’t keep a Bongo in her backyard)!

Mark your calendars and come join us Monday, August 29th from 5-7 pm as we celebrate 2 years at The Studio.  Hard to believe it’s been two years already. We’ve been having so much fun.  Come help us celebrate and try one of the FREE projects we will be offering at the party…it’s our gift to you for being so supportive.  (The photos above are from last year’s party!)

See you there….Monday from 5-7 pm!

We had a big group at a paint party organized by Navy Federal Credit Union last night in Winchester….and they did GRREATT!!!!

We had so many people working at The Studio yesterday creating beautiful works of art.  Wednesday we have regular weekly art classes for adults and children.  Adults have classes at 10:30 or 5:30 and Kids class is at 4:15.

Occasionally we have visitors who just drop in.  This happened yesterday with a young girl and her Babushka.  They wanted to paint together before she had to return home to Seattle so they painted together at the evening class.  Our young painter, Kamila, completed this little lamb painting.  She was very pleased.

Logan has been working on a large painting and decided to take a break from it yesterday to do a quick palette knife painting that she could complete in one session just to get her creative juices flowing again.

And the kids did this fun little “Saying” multi media piece.  Great work everyone!!!
