Today we are wishing a Happy 14th Birthday to our Lincoln. He has been living his best life for all 14 of them! Making Panel Quilts

I just made this panel quilt for my good friend, Carol Ann. Klimt is her favorite painter and she loves the painting, “The Kiss”, so when I saw this panel at a quilt shop last year I bought it with her in mind. Her birthday was this past month so I pulled the panel out of my stash along with some fabrics that I liked with it and whipped up this panel quilt. She loved it! 🙂 Panel quilts are a great way to make a fast quilt. We have a class coming up at The Studio on August 30th to teach you what you need to know to design your own panel quilt. Happy 91st to Tilly

A Birthday Quilt Surprise!

I spent a delightful weekend with a group of talented quilters at the “Piecemakers” Retreat in Roxbury, Pennsylvania. I learned so much from them and they were all so generous with their knowledge. While there I worked on a baking themed quilt for Sister, who is a terrific cake and bread maker. She came up from Georgia to stay with Lincoln so I could go to the retreat when my regular sitter had an emergency out of state. As her birthday is in a few weeks and I had planned to make this quilt for her I decided to move it up so that I could give it to her while she was here. She loved it….and so did Paisley, her little Yorkie. I think Sister will have to share it with her. Happy Early Birthday!!!

She has been one of my summer art camp kids and she and her friends showed off their skills to the rest of the family. Such lovely work!!! 20170801_062314Happy 3rd Birthday to The Studio-A Place for Learning!  We can’t believe that it’s been three years since we opened The Studio to offer a place for creative classes in Front Royal.  And create we have!  We have offered classes in sewing, painting, jewelry making, cupcake decorating, photography, quilting, crocheting,  knitting, paper painting, wreath making, glass painting, and much, much more!  Are we having fun yet?  YOU BET WE ARE!  And today the fun continues as we have 5 terrific projects for adults and kids to make at our Free “Make & Take” during the birthday celebration from 5-7 pm including these super cute fabric brooches.  Come make yours.  See you this afternoon.  And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE STUDIO!

thX4LIGGI7We are spending today getting The Studio ready for our 3rd Birthday tomorrow.  Hard to believe it’s been three years since we converted Delilah’s to The Studio-A Place for Learning.  It’s been an amazing three years … and all because of YOU!  So to celebrate we are having a Birthday Party …. and the gifts are for you.  It’s a Customer Appreciation Celebration with 5 fabulous “Make and Take” gifts just for you as well as some terrific door prizes!  So stop by tomorrow from 5-7 pm and help us celebrate three fabulous years….eat some cake…and make a couple of awesome gifts to take home.  Thanks!

Jed’s Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Jed’s 10th birthday by going to the dog park to run and play. This was a great way to start the day. Jed has been such a good boy all these years and we are just grateful that we found him. Happy Birthday old boy!  We hope you have many more!
