20170211_081108.jpg20170211_081419.jpgI made a new ruffled scarf last night from a beautiful skein of yarn that my friend Sandra gave me yesterday.  I love it.  It was easy to work up but looks difficult.  It’s not.  Really nice. There are several good tutorials online if you look for them using the Sashay name.  Thanks Sandra for thinking of me.

Today would have been Big Mama’s birthday.  She was born in 1908 and lived through some really interesting times.  She taught me so much – cooking, sewing, crocheting and how to work hard.  She loved her family, her community and her church and her friends.  She was a beautiful person and I miss her.

20170209_060340.jpgThe Kid’s class made these beautiful collage Valentine’s yesterday.  Beautiful!  And you have an opportunity to make similar ones on Sunday afternoon.  Register now for this “All Ages” class.  Something fun to do with your kids.

Just got through making this crocheted vest simplifying a pattern so that we can offer this as a class for beginners at The Studio.  It turned out great and can be done in any yarn and for any size. And the best part is that it’s very simple.   Let’s give it a try!

Art with Thread

20170207_061741.jpgYesterday I worked on a project for a new class for The Studio. We always see really cute shirts and sweaters at this time of the year with Heart or Shamrock motifs….and even Bunnies as we get closer to Easter.  But many of these sweaters are super expensive so we figured we would just Do-It-Ourselves!  This class will be coming soon to The Studio.  Watch for it!  (Oh, and my Shamrock turned in to a Dog Paw.  Imagine that!  LOL)

Waiting Westie

Westie Window.jpgI worked this up yesterday for the 1st Saturday Paint Party on March 4th.  I love it, of course.  I’m thinking many of you will too.  If you want to paint this one, click here to register.  (And please remember that all paintings here are copyrighted and can only be reproduced with permission of the artist. Thanks.)

wp-1486293542995.jpgYesterday we had a terrific paint party with a full house painting fabulous winter barn scenes!  Great work everyone.

Yesterday we started our classes with Virginia International Academy students.  We will be exploring all types of painting.  We worked on the color wheel and color mixing as well as started a painting in acrylic.  This will be fun!

The kid’s classes this week started working on their Valentine’s for their sweethearts.  We made Love Birds using paper.  They look super!  Great job everyone.

I’m working on my scarf for the upcoming ConGT in Tennessee on March 17-19.  I am going back over to hold a few Paint Parties.  We’ll be painting the Exploding Tardis and either a Tardis or Dalek.  (Click the links to see them and register.)  But in the meantime I’ll keep working on my scarf.  (You can see Lincoln in the window.  He is a little bored with how long it’s taking.  LOL)
