It is amazing how dependent we are on cell phones….smart phones to be precise. Mine died yesterday morning and sent me into a panic like I haven’t had in a very long time. It couldn’t be saved. And we are still waiting to see if we can recover anything in it but I am the proud owner of a newer version of the same phone. I like it but it does so much more. It will take awhile to learn it all. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can recover some of the content on the old one. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

We had a busy afternoon at The Studio yesterday. First, our 1st Saturday Paint Party saw us painting the Koi Fish Pond…using our fingers. That was so much fun. Then we had two private Paint Parties with excited painters….many giving it a try for the first time. It’s always a good time introducing new people to painting and helping those who already paint learn even more. A great day at The Studio.

For a couple of years now we’ve been asked to work with international students who attend Virginia International Academy in Front Royal. These four students are all from China and yesterday we had our first session….without electricity due to the windy weather. Even without lights we created color wheels and discussed color mixing and painted these nice little sketches using just three colors- Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light, and Cadmium Red Medium plus a little Titanium White. Pretty good for just three colors in about 30 minutes! Looking forward to working with these students for several more weeks.

We just added a couple of new Paint Parties for March. You asked for an “Adult” party for the Little Country Church that the kids painted this week so here it is. Paint with us on Tuesday, March 20th at 6 pm. Click here to register.
And we are always getting requests for something for really young painters to do so we have a “Kid & Me” party coming up on Saturday morning, March 17th at 10 am for kids ages 3-7 to paint with their adult. We’ll make this cute little door hanger just in time for Easter. Click here to register for that one.

The Studio sponsored a fundraiser for Miracle Kid Noelle on Saturday night. And boy, did we have a good time. We had a terrific turn-out and created some lovely paintings. You can learn more about Noelle here. I met her last summer when she attended art camp. She loved painting! What’s not to love?! And she shares my love of Bob Ross. LOL! We are wishing only good things for this young painter.

Last night at our Adult’s Art Class we all decided to get loose and paint abstracts. Thanks Marie for the push! It was great fun. We watched a short Bobblast video for inspiration…we love Bob Burridge! And off we went, painting away. This is my Big Bird…. a representational abstract piece. It was fun!
