Back in May I shared a post about Lincoln and Charlotte. You can see it here. Lincoln loves her and it brightens his day when he gets to see her. Last night she came to art class with her mom and she wanted to paint a portrait of Lincoln. She sketched him and then went to work painting. She captured him beautifully. It’s so much fun to see the two of them together. Super sweet!

We painted these large canvases with palette knives last night at The Studio. And everyone did amazing work and were surprised at how fast these came together. Nice work ladies! If you missed out you can try your hand a palette knife painting on Sunday, August 18th at 2 pm. Click here to register for that one.

This year for the first time we are offering a “Sewing Camp” for Kids at The Studio on Monday and Tuesday, July 29-30. I learned to sew when I was very young. My grandmothers and mom taught me first and then when I was in school my Home Economics teacher took me to the next level. This is something that I have used my entire life and is a skill that all kids, girls and boys, should learn. Why you might ask? Sewing not only helps you to produce something useful and creative but it teaches other skills too….like math skills, problem solving, self-control, how to focus as well as patience. (That last one I might have missed. LOL) If you have a young person, ages 7+, we have a great two day session planned. Click here to register.

Today we wish Lincoln a Happy Adoption Day. He has brought lots of smiles and joy to us and those who have gotten to know him. And he has adapted to his new “work” at The Studio with enthusiasm. I recently saw what a friend wrote about his mixed breed dog and loved it….so from now on, because Lincoln is such a funny looking little mixed breed and I get asked a lot what is he mixed with…I will say “PERFECTION”!

Yesterday we started our Farm Animal Art Camp for young painters ages 5-7 and we painted COWS! What a great job these young painters did on these. And they were such good listeners that we started another painting so if all goes well we finish it and another today. Stay tuned.
