Yesterday at The Studio we painted from a photo a friend had shared on Facebook a few months ago of some beautiful hollyhocks growing by an old blue shed. When I saw it I immediately thought it would make a great painting. So I asked Lucy if she allow us to use her photo as reference for out Hollyhock painting. She was delighted that we wanted to do it. And so we did….and everyone created a beautiful work of art based on Lucy’s Hollyhocks! Great work everyone!!!!

We had a wonderful afternoon painting Monet’s Dahlias for our July Famous Painter session. What a great job everyone did! This was an extra large canvas and a bit of a challenge but everyone was up to it and turned out some amazing work. Next month’s Famous Painter session will feature Degas. We all had a great time at the fundraiser at Belle Grove yesterday painting the 1820’s Meat House. It was fun being in the old barn to paint and enjoying the views. Thanks to everyone who supported this even and Belle Grove. Watch for more terrific events coming there soon.
