Because we have a small group painting this week, and all of them are veterans of Art Camp, we are moving right along in our plan to paint as many farm animals as possible. Yesterday we completed two! We had time on Monday to do the background for one so it made it easy to get an extra one done. So now we have a goose (or duck) and a Rooster to add to our Farm Animal series. Wonderful!

The Window Sill
Posted in daily painter, Expressionism, Flowers, tagged Expressionism, flowers, Window Sill on August 5, 2019| 4 Comments »
Sometimes I begin a painting and it gets set aside until I can get back to it…especially larger pieces. That is what happened with The Window Sill. I started this about 3 years ago after seeing a beautiful photo in Better Homes and Gardens of a blue green window sash and lovely flowers in a variety of pots and vases. I found the canvas tucked away in the closet at The Studio when I was gathering canvases for the annual Anniversary sale (still underway) and decided to finish it.
Jacket Complete

The Sandys have completed the jacket. Sandra Charles, on the left, is a fabulous seamstress and she spent a few Fridays at Open Studio teaching Sandy Schwalb to sew. The jacket was made with antique fabric given to Sandy by her aunt in New York City. It’s beautiful but a little fragile with which to work so it was a challenge. It turned our terrific. Nice work girls!
