We painted Holiday Cheer yesterday….and that included Mistletoe and Holly! These festive wine and martini glasses made great subjects. Nice!

We had a terrific group of painters last night at the Fox Meadow Winery Paint Party. We painted their beautiful view. It is so pretty there. Check out more here.

“Wine Anyone?” is acrylic on canvas measuring 8″x16. This one may have a little more added in but for now it is an idea for a paint party. What do you think?

The Paint Party at Rappahannock Cellars was a huge success last night. With 65 painters it is the largest paint party we have ever held. Everyone was enthusiastic and energized by their terrific paintings….and fabulous wine. It was a great combination. Thank goodness for Lauren and Michele, two of my art students, who helped me work the party. Here are some scenes from the evening. (And thanks Lauren for the panoramic shot.) We can’t wait for the next one on May 12th!

Still working on a few more paintings to take out to Winding Road Cellars. Be sure to make time to go out and visit this new winery. Not only is it beautiful out there but the wine is worth the visit! This little painting is called “Wine and Cheese”. It is a 6″x6″ on board and is framed and available for $95.

I get invited to paint at special events from time to time. A good friend of mine is manager at Peebles here in town and invited me to paint there for a special promotion they were doing last spring. They had me back this weekend. I painted a larger version of a small painting (Virginia WIne I, see it here) that I did a few weeks ago and I enlisted a helper. Often, when painting on location, I invite kids to “help” me. And usually they jump right in. This little girl was so much fun. She helped me paint for a while and then she did her grandmothers make-up at a table they had set-up for people to try out some new things. Adorable.
Virginia Wine II, is acrylic on canvas, 18″x24″ and is almost finished. I still have a little more to do to it but we got a great deal done at the event.
