I love sharing the art that my students make. Here are two of my Wednesday students. This is Mary’s first painting. She just joined us in class on Wednesday morning and we had a wonderful time making this mountain scene. Great job Mary and welcome to our class!

And you recognize Pat. She has been painting with me on Wednesday evenings for a couple of years and does wonderful work that her friends and family fight over. This beautiful painting is of her daughter’s home. It looks fabulous Pat!

PNC Park on the Last Day

I worked all this week on PNC Park in Pittsburgh. It has to be one of the best views from a park but all the detail makes it difficult to paint. I am almost finished with it and should finish it up today but I wanted to share it with you as the last few hours of my Kickstarter project wind down. Just to update you on where I am with the project, it appears that no one has ever painted all 30 Ball Parks during one season so I’ll be the first. Woo Hoo! And as of the writing this morning the project has been pledged at 110% so as long as this holds by midnight tonight my project will be funded. Yippee! Please know how much I appreciate everyone who has pledged to support this project. You can’t know how much your encouragement means to this painter. Many, many thanks! PNC is the 5th painting in the series and I will be starting number 6 today.

I was asked about the process I use in painting one of the ball fields for my Kickstarter Project – Painted Diamonds. So I tried to take photos while I worked on the painting of the Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field to show you the progress. Sometimes I get so involved that I forget to take a picture but you get the idea.

Every artist works differently. I usually start at the top and work in the basic shapes moving toward the subject matter that is closest to the viewer at the end and then go back in to put details. That’s the great thing about painting. There is no right or wrong way as long as the end result makes you happy then you did it just right!

Wrigley is the 4th painting in the series of 30 that I am painting for my Kickstarter Project- Painted Diamonds – where I will be painting every Major League Baseball park before the World Series this year.

Fenway in the Making

Just nine days left to get my Painted Diamonds project funded on Kickstarter.com . We are at 89% of our goal. Kickstarter is all or nothing so I have got to get to 100% for the project to go. Kids Paint Cherry Blossoms

Spent most of yesterday afternoon working on the painting of Baltimore’s Oriole Park at Camden Yards. This is an acrylic on 18″x24″ canvas. It is the second in the series of Major League Baseball’s parks that is part of my Kickstarter project – Painted Diamonds. I have less than two weeks now to get the project funded. Kickstarter Update

I have just 17 days to go for my Kickstarter Project to get funded and it’s at 71% this morning. Many thanks to everyone who has already pledged to make the project work. Your help is greatly appreciated. I am so anxious to do this project and really want to get it funded. Many people have congratulated me on the project and asked about it and have told me they are not familiar with Kickstarter. Click here to see my project. Here is a little more about how Kickstarter works:

Kickstarter is a way for creative people to get projects funded. You go to the site and read about a project then click on the green button and make a pledge at the level you wish to help. As you read about the project you see that you get rewards for different levels of pledges. So choose your reward and make a pledge. Luzia’s and the Leadership Class Paints

Luzia joined our art class last night and this is her first painting. Great job! And the best part, she had a great time. Painting is fun. Why don’t you come join us too.

Yesterday was a day of firsts. I was asked to work with the Front Royal-Warren County Leadership Class during their Art and Tourism Day and they all painted their first landscapes of the mountains and did wonderful work. And they had fun too. I think there is a theme here: PAINTING IS FUN!!!
