Seems that it was Dog Day at The Studio yesterday.  I took my boys to work for the morning art class and of course, they were all over everyone.  Gretchen made the mistake of sitting down on the floor so Lincoln tried to show her that he is really a lap dog.

Then Lucky came to bring his “sister” to kids class.  Sometimes he likes to walk her to class and pick her up.  I guess just to be sure she’s safe.  With a face like that he does scare off a few folks but he really is just a big sugar lump!

And then finally for the evening adult class Hannah brought her sweet little Hershey to class.  She enjoyed all the treats and loving she got from everyone there.

All in all a really good dog day at The Studio!

Painting of "Boo Looking Beyond"

Painting of “Boo Looking Beyond”

Today we are remembering Sweet Boo.  She was born on this day in 1990 and was a White German Shepherd that had been abandoned.  We adopted her from our shelter years ago. We didn’t get her until she was 12 years old!  I know, right?  That’s old for a big dog.  We brought her home in hopes of giving her nice couple of years.  Instead, she gave us a nice couple of years.

She was such a sweet girl. We are so grateful to have had time with her.  As a tribute to Boo I would encourage anyone thinking of adopting a pet to consider a senior.  Older pets need good homes and they are often the best pet to bring into a busy household because they don’t need housebreaking and training.  They just need love and companionship….and they give all of that and more back to you.  Think about it.

So today we miss and celebrate sweet “Miss Boo- Bella Boobarina – Princess of Sweetness”!

jacket dog leashI just finished converting a sweatshirt into this cute jacket.  It’s really pretty easy to do.  And we will be offering a class soon at The Studio for anyone who wants to make their own.  It’s fun to create something that represents your personality.  Of course, mine had to have a dog!

I think I will change the sleeve cuffs on this one.  They are a little long so maybe I will change them up.  Watch for an updated photo and info on the class coming up soon.  (Click here to see another converted jacket from earlier this year.)

Art Where You Find It

1524699_10201230357068232_550420297_nOver the past several years I have posted about finding art in unusual places.  Look around.  You see it everywhere…businesses, restaurants, homes, shops, museums, billboards, etc.  But this week in my neighborhood we saw some special art.  Almost everyday while walking my dogs, especially when we go to the dog park, I post on Facebook a photo of them “checking the Pee mail”.  One of my neighbors granddaughter made an art sign that they posted by the fire hydrant in their front yard.  It says, ” Public Restroom – All Dogs Welcome – Pee Mail Stop – Woof Woof”.

This is the best kind of art.  You gotta love it!!!
