Blue Hats…

Been busy crocheting since the weather got a little cooler a few weeks ago.  I’ve made several hats…..and scarfs…and baby hats, etc.  Here is a sampling of the blue hats I’ve done.   We have many beautiful crocheted and other handmade items at Delilah’s at 105 East Main Street in Front Royal, VA.  Keep us in mind as you shop for the holidays.  🙂

Art in the Carolinas

In order to keep doing this, painting daily, I have to spend some time buying supplies as well as keeping abreast of what other artists are doing.  One way I do this is to go annually to Raleigh, NC to Art in the Carolina, a huge art supply trade show and workshop event sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama, my favorite artist supply store and catalog.  I love going.  It’s great fun to watch the demonstrations, check out the new products, and pick up supplies at great prices.

A big plus is that my artist friends from Kentucky come and I get to spend time with them including my former teacher and artist mentor, Barbara Gardner.  It is always good to catch up with friends.  I’ll let you know what all I learn as soon as I return.  🙂

Jed and Lincoln in Hunter Orange

As I posted a few weeks ago, click here to see more, I have been working on Hunter Orange sweaters for my boys to wear when we go to the cabin during hunting season.  They love to run and play and I want to be sure they are well seen. 

Here they are modeling their new looks.

Mary Lou and Pat painting in class on Wedneday night.  You can paint too.  Join us on Wednesday or Thursday from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and learn to paint.  Or if you paint already, you can join us to develop your skills.  We have a great time at the Blue Ridge Arts Council workroom and we’d love to see you there.  If you’d like to paint with us just contact me at kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com .  We also have children’s classes from 4:15 – 5:15 on Wed. and Thurs.!
