The last day of Art Camp for this summer had us working with Gelli printing. Guest artist Sandra Charles came to show us what printing and stamping is all about. We made stamps from sponges; we cut stamps from rubber; and we used Gelli plates to print wall art, cards and even some tee-shirts.
What a fun day. Thanks Sandra for taking time to teach us.

In our Arts and Crafts Camp yesterday we worked with wire and beads and made a “Tree of Life”. The kids did a great job beading their trees. Fantastic!

The last week of Art Camp for the summer started yesterday. We painted beautiful poppies. What a great job!
And we were lucky to have some frames donated so everyone got a framed painting. Nice!!!

We started the final session of Art Camp for ages 5-6 yesterday with this fun painting after George Rodrigue. We love Blue Dog! And these kids did a wonderful job painting him. Good work.

We painted the Front Royal Caboose at Art Camp yesterday. And then as a special treat we walked down to the actual caboose to take our class photo. FUN!

This week’s Art Camp features local scenes. Yesterday we painted a scene of the Shenandoah River and Mountains. It is the view as you come across the North Fork Bridge coming into town.
The kids did a wonderful job.

Our little Art Campers painted the Gazebo yesterday. Beautiful!
And I have to share a little story from yesterday. When the little painters come in I always ask them if everyone liked their paintings from the day before. This is the response I got from one little girl, “My Mom was freaking loving it”!
