The fat squirrel finally got up enough courage to come get the fruit on the table because he is always afraid Lincoln will come running out to chase him, and what happens? A big Cardinal decides to decend on him and try to get some of his fruit. LOL

Look at what a terrific job this group of painters did with these summer flowers at the Paint Party on Saturday at The Studio. NICE!!! Check out the fun things coming up at The Studio here.

You don’t want your young artist to miss out on this fun, do you???? Be sure to register them for Art Camp at The Studio. Click here to see the dates for Ages 5-7 and 8-12 year old artists. They will have a great time, learn about painting, and create masterpieces to share!

This week at our Thursday Art Class we celebrated Tilly’s 91st Birthday. She is my oldest and most fashion forward student!!! We all love her and her enthusiasm for life and art. Happy Birthday Tilly! We look forward to celebrating many more with you.

We had a full house at The Studio last night making fabulous bucket hats. Just take a look at the cute fabric choices…and the best part….they are reversible!!! So that is two hats in one! Just in time for summer sun. Now don’t you wish you had made one too? The next class is Saturday, July 2nd. Click here for more info and to register.

I spent a delightful weekend with a group of talented quilters at the “Piecemakers” Retreat in Roxbury, Pennsylvania. I learned so much from them and they were all so generous with their knowledge. While there I worked on a baking themed quilt for Sister, who is a terrific cake and bread maker. She came up from Georgia to stay with Lincoln so I could go to the retreat when my regular sitter had an emergency out of state. As her birthday is in a few weeks and I had planned to make this quilt for her I decided to move it up so that I could give it to her while she was here. She loved it….and so did Paisley, her little Yorkie. I think Sister will have to share it with her. Happy Early Birthday!!!

One of my weekly art students, Dianne, treated her visiting family members to a private paint party Thursday morning. She didn’t tell them what they were doing but just brought them to The Studio to surprise them. They were both surprised and delighted that they were able to create a beautiful momento of their visit. Great job everone. It was delightful painting with you!

It’s the quiet before the storm….storm of sewing, that is! The Quilter’s Retreat started yesterday afternoon and while I didn’t get here till early evening I tried to catch up by sewing until 11 pm. And now, as usual, I am the first one up. I just can’t seen to sleep past 5 am. It’s kind of nice in the quiet minutes before all the machines fire up. I can’t wait to see what everyone is doing! More to come.

This group of young painters did an amazing job painting the lighthouse at class on Wednesday. It was our last Wednesday Kids Class until September when we will begin again. But don’t worry….we have a great summer Art Camp schedule for young painters. Be sure to register your young artist now. Classes are filling quickly. Check it out here.

A few weeks ago my friend Jackie gave me this beautiful crochet item. It appeared to be 4 placemats crocheted from crochet thread . My grandmother used to work with crochet thread but I have never been able to work with such small stuff. But I do love how it looks so I was thrilled when Jackie gave these to me. I sewed them together to make a table runner and it looks so pretty and happy. Thanks Jackie for thinking of me with this beautiful gift of craftsmanship. It’s just lovely!!!!
