The final session of Art Camp started yesterday with our youngest artists (ages 5-7) painting Matisse’s Lady in a Purple Coat. They did such a good job in only the 2 hours that we had. Terrific!!!

The artists who take regular art classes each week at The Studio are working to improve their skills. Each one chooses their subject matter and get help individually from wherever they are to move their art forward. Marie is a very good painter who did a fabulous job on these interesting and colorful trees and dog that she put together from several photos. Nice work Marie! One of the best things an artist can do for their art is to improve their color mixing skills. Check out our upcoming workshop at The Studio on Color Mixing. Click here for info.

The young artists were so excited to paint Van Gogh’s Starry Night at Art Camp yesterday. It was our final day of camp for this age group (ages 8-13) for this summer. We had an amazing group of painters who created some beautiful pieces of art while learning about a variety of famous artists. There is one more session left for the younger artists (ages 5-7) coming up on August 3-4. Here is the registration information.

We love Matisse! The Art Campers loved painting “Girl in the Purple Coat” yesterday. It was quite a challenge to do it in just 3 hours but these young painters were diligent and buckled down and got it finished. And boy, didn’t they do an excellent job?! Great work girls!

At Art Camp yesterday our great young painters recreated Paul Gauguin’s “Tahitian Landscape”. And what beautiful recreations they made! Just take a look. They are terrific. And we do get a little paint on us when we work, don’t we Sloan? LOL
