Fall Art at Capon Springs Resort

Here is a message recently sent out by our friends at Capon Springs. It’s not to late to join us for the Fall Retreat either for a few nights or just come out for dinner and the Paint Party on Sunday:

“Let your creative side shine and join us next week for our Fall Art Retreat (Sunday, October 27 – Thursday, October 31)! Beginners and advanced artists welcome. This retreat is the fifth collaboration with artist, Kelly Walker from The Studio in Front Royal, Virginia. The $125 per person per night rate includes your night stay, 3 meals per day, art instruction and all other Capon activities (golf and spa not included). Join us for just one night, or all four! You can bring your own art supplies and improve your skills as you paint along… or you can purchase supplies for a small supply fee.

Book Club at the River

We had a terrific Book Club Meeting down at the river this afternoon and then we invited the guys to come by and have a little picnic dinner with us. It was a beautiful evening.

Virginia Women of the Moose Meeting

Learn to Crochet-A Perfect Hobby

Crochet Infinity Crocheting is a terrific hobby to develop. I learned as a young child from my grandmother who was patient enough to teach a curious young girl. And I’m glad she was because I have made hundreds of items over the years. It is something I can do for a few minutes in between doing other things or I can sit for hours and crochet. That is the beauty of it. You can pick it up and put it down without any preparation or clean-up. And you can take most of it anywhere to do. Stick it in a bag and crochet while in a waiting room or on a long car ride. Farm Animals II

Yesterday we painted two more farm animals in our series. (See the first two here.) The Goose and Sheep turned out great! These will make a beautiful grouping….and next month we will add two more.
