Ten Years Ago Today … we had the ribbon cutting and grand opening of The Studio. It’s been delightful getting to know so many creative people over the years. We’ve had many terrific events and we can’t even count the number of fabulous people who have come to paint, sew, and create amazing projects. Making so many friends over these ten years has been the very best part. And we can’t wait to see what the next few years bring. Keep coming to The Studio and we’ll keep coming up with fun ideas! Just wait and see.

Susan came to our regular Wednesday night art class to complete her Famous Painter piece from this past weekend’s Paint Party. Great job!

We had a wonderful afternoon painting Monet’s Dahlias for our July Famous Painter session. What a great job everyone did! This was an extra large canvas and a bit of a challenge but everyone was up to it and turned out some amazing work. Next month’s Famous Painter session will feature Degas. Check out the painting and register here.

Our final Sewing Camp this summer was a huge success! These young girls created these amazing stuffed animals. They chose their pattern (cat, sheep, or bunny) and then selected fabrics for the body, legs, arms and ears. Next they designed the faces. What a FUN project!

Over the last month I have been playing around with Sourdough. Feeding it and making bread with both the active starter as well as discard recipes. We love the Banana Nut Bread but my favorite is the plain sourdough loafs. It’s fun to make and a little of a challenge to see if it will turn out. It’s a different kind of “art”.

Yesterday was our final day of Art Camp for the summer. Lincoln was so sad to hear it that he wouldn’t even appear in the photo! The kids did an amazing job. These young artists are off to a good start in their art careers!

Our youngest painters created these wonderful Christmas Roosters yesterday at The Studio as we continue our Christmas in July Art Camp. Aren’t they amazing???!!!

We just completed this cute little Doggie themed throw based on Stacy Iest Hsu’s pattern. It’s so adorable. And since we didn’t want to leave out or cat friends I came up with a similar pattern with a feline theme and made a bed runner. I love the Big Yellow cat! We’ll be offering these as a class soon so let us know if you are interested. They are lots of fun to make.

We had a large group come yesterday to The Studio to paint these beautiful butterflies. Nice work everyone. Check out the upcoming events and come paint with us soon. https://thestudio-104116.square.site/

Our last painting for Christmas in July Art Camp was this lovely red Christmas Barn. These kids were very enthusiastic about painting and they did a great job all week. Keep painting, kids!
