I am so proud of these quilters!!!! Remember that we started a Quilt as You Go Sampler Quilt class last fall where we learned to make a different quilt block or two each month and then learned how to put it all together with the Quilt as You Go method? Well here are some of the quilters who completed their quilts recently. Aren’t they all beautiful???!!!!! I love how we made the same 12 quilt blocks and how everyone’s quilt turned out differently showing off their personalities. And some of these ladies, most in fact, were new to quilting. Isn’t that amazing???!!!! I think so. The good news is we have another class starting October 16th and it’s not too late for you to get in on it and make one of these beauties. Click here for more info or contact Kelly at kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com to join. Great work quilters….I am so, so proud of what you accomplished!

Not that kind of Strip Poker!!! LOL! Remember a few weeks ago we had our Stitch & Bitch V Retreat? One of the games we played with the group was “Strip Poker” where we played a game using Jelly Roll Strips. I WON 100 jelly roll strips in all colors and prints. So part of the game was to “makes something” and share it. So here it is. I used them along with these Moda pre-printed Farm Animal blocks to make this Quilt as You Go quilt. I love how it turned out. If you look closely you can see that I sewed the strips together and then cut them to use as half square triangles. I love star quilts!

I love that they all have the same blocks but they look so different based on everyone’s fabric selections and placement. Gorgeous! Great job Barbara, Debbie, Wilma and Debbie! Stitch & Bitch V was the best retreat we have ever had. I don’t know if it was the combination of people, the projects we were working on, the food and games, or just what led to it but this was by far the most fun we have had at a retreat. And we CAN NOT WAIT to do it again. We will on Feb 2-6, 2023. I think most everyone will return but just in case they can’t be sure to let me know if you want to be added to the wait list. We always give the people who were at the last retreat the first right of refusal for the next but if they can’t attend we open it to the wait list. And trust me, you don’t want to miss this!!!!!
