Nine years ago, a childhood friend asked me to paint her sweet dog wearing Doggles. Click here to see it. Last month she again asked me to paint for her. She had this lovely photo of her sweet dog, Ella, laying in the yard watching the sunrise just a few days before she passed. It was such a sweet image. This is the painting that I am sending off to her today. I texted her the photo of the painting and she loved it! 🙂

We have three terrific classes coming up this week. On Friday, we will be painting “The Old Gate” in a small format that includes the frame. This will be a fun one to do and you will leave with a beautiful painting framed up and ready to hang …. or that will make a perfect Mother’s Day gift! 🙂 Click here to register for it. And then on Saturday we have the Cross Rag Quilt just in time for Easter. Register now and get the pre-class instructions. And then on Sunday we will be painting again in the Expressionist style with this terrific still life. These are sooooo much fun to do and turn out beautifully. Join us by clicking here. We really like painting old fences…especially those with flowers. We have a few new designs coming up. Here is the first one. And the cool thing about this one is that it can be done as one canvas or two. So if you want to come as a couple or a parent and child, you can both paint half and put it together to form one beautiful work of art. So come paint with us on Friday, April 10th at 6 pm. It’s time to plan your trip to Capon Springs Resort and Farm. We’ll be having two paint parties…one on Friday night and one on Sunday night. This is our 6th collaboration between Capon Springs and The Studio as we hold a Spring Artist Retreat from Friday, June 5th thru Tuesday, June 9th. You can come anytime from Friday through Tuesday and stay for one night or all four. The best part of coming is that the $125 per person per night includes 3 meals per day (homemade all you can eat comfort food, some from the farm), art instruction and all other resort activities (except for golf and spa services). You can bring your own art supplies and improve your skills as you paint along…or if you don’t have art supplies and you want to give it a try, we will have supplies available for a small supply fee* for the things you want to try. How easy is that?! Click here for a copy of the Retreat Flyer: Capon Springs Retreat Schedule Jun 2020
YOU MUST CONTACT CAPON SPRINGS TO REGISTER. Invite some friends and contact Capon Springs to reserve a room. You can paint in the mornings and enjoy the resort activities in the afternoon. Register at www.caponsprings.net or call (304) 874-3695. We are so excited to be going back to this magical place and can’t wait to paint with all of you!!!! Be sure to contact Capon Springs to register for this one.
