Our Art Campers did such a great job listening this week that we had time to add an extra painting into the mix. We did Van Gogh’s boots (and did you hear about the new Van Gogh portrait just discovered on the back of another painting?) and Monet’s Studio Boat. Didn’t they do a great job on both?! Yesterday at Art Camp we discussed Pierre-Auguste Renoir and recreated one of his beautiful paintings. It was quite the challenge but these young painters went for it and did an excellent job. We learn so much by looking at these amazing historical pieces and trying to do the same type of work. And each day we build on what we learned the day before. These kids are to be commended for being fearless. There is nothing they won’t try on canvas. Great work everyone!!!! For more information on the rest of the summer’s schedule click here.

The Regatta

While in Newport recently I ran across this little Regatta on Saturday.  Got some nice shots of sailboats to paint.  As a daily painter I am always gathering photos for my reference file.
