I can’t remember when I have enjoyed something this much!  I don’t get to paint the things I like as often as I like these days as I am always working on projects for classes but this is a style I really LOVE!  And to learn from Angus…an artist whose work I love…has been a joy.  He makes it look easy….but trust me, it’s NOT!  But it is fun and I am learning so much.  Here is some of what I did yesterday…and after studying it last night I can’t wait to get there this morning and make a few changes.  That’s how we learn!

I’m excited to be in Falmouth, Massachusetts painting at their Art Center with Angus Wilson.  His style is bold and fun…and his method interesting.  I am so glad to be learning directly from him.  We were given so much information yesterday and worked on sketching and developing color plans.  I worked on several designs.  This is the one that I plan to put on canvas today.  Can’t wait to get back to it!

After the fun at the Reunion and visiting with old friends, my sister and I packed up again to head north…this time to come home. I got to visit with her three pups and kitty before we left and then we made a stop in Hilton Head to check on a couple of things before hitting I-95 and running another 10 hours in the car. I can’t remember the last time I put in so many miles in such a short time….we logged around 2000 on this quick circle trip….but it was good to get home…where the Stinkin’ Lincoln was waiting!

20190928_192223.jpgSo we are in Nashville….we see Hannah perform at the Grand Ole Opry (see yesterday’s blog post)  and she kills it!  We go to the after party at the Nashville Palace…also a great time seeing how excited everyone was for her.  By this time it’s 11 pm and we have to be in south Georgia the next day so we load up and drive from Nashville to  Clyo, Georgia…my sister’s home.  This takes about 9 hours!  But we get there by 8:30 am so we have time to take a nap and then get up to go again…leaving about 3:30 to drive another 2 hours to Patterson, Georgia…a little town where I attended high school.  It’s my 40th class reunion and I hadn’t been back since the 10 year reunion so I didn’t want to miss it.  Our school, Patterson High School, was so small that it has an “All-Class” Reunion so folks attend from every year.  It’s great to see old friends and catch up.  I wish more could have made it but the ones who did had a marvelous time. Our old school has been remodeled and made into a community center and they did an excellent job with it.  It’s the perfect space for events.  I’m so glad I went and  I won’t wait so long to go back again.

It was so great!!!!  We saw the Bob Ross exhibit at Franklin Park Art Center in Purcellville yesterday.  A group of nine went over and saw the amazing video about Bob and his life and how he began painting.

Then we saw some 30 of his paintings from his show, The Joy of Painting.  It was very well done.  The show is sold out but they told us yesterday that they may add a few more tickets to try to allow more people to see it so be sure to check their website.
