It’s time to plan your trip to Capon Springs Resort and Farm. We’ll be having two paint parties…one on Friday night and one on Sunday night. This is our 6th collaboration between Capon Springs and The Studio as we hold a Spring Artist Retreat from Friday, June 5th thru Tuesday, June 9th. You can come anytime from Friday through Tuesday and stay for one night or all four. The best part of coming is that the $125 per person per night includes 3 meals per day (homemade all you can eat comfort food, some from the farm), art instruction and all other resort activities (except for golf and spa services). You can bring your own art supplies and improve your skills as you paint along…or if you don’t have art supplies and you want to give it a try, we will have supplies available for a small supply fee* for the things you want to try. How easy is that?! Click here for a copy of the Retreat Flyer: Capon Springs Retreat Schedule Jun 2020

Remember back in December I worked with a group of young girls at E Wilson Morrison Elementary School called Club Hope. (
We channeled Georgia O’Keeffe last night as we had our Famous Painter session. We recreated this beautiful Still Life, Peach and Glass, from 1927. Don’t they look great?! Nice work ladies. Our next Famous Painter session is Tuesday, March 24th when we will paint Steinlen’s Rooster.
Here is the new Four Seasons series that we will be doing this year…and it includes Barns! Paint one or all four!!! We will be starting with the Winter scene on Friday, February 28th.
We have two exciting classes coming up this weekend. On Friday, we are holding the Large Abstract Class again. Always a popular one especially if you have a large space that needs a piece of art or a pop of color. In the past many beautiful pieces have be created. We have space for three more painters
And then on Sunday we are offering our first Masters Class. These classes emphasize a start to finish painting working for a still life set-up. We’ll have flowers and fruit set up for you to work from…finding the look that suits your aesthetic. This will be a little longer class and feature more instruction.
Everyone did a great job last night exploring a new way to paint with abstracts and negative painting. It was fun trying something new.
