Yesterday at Kid’s Class we painted Flamingos. The kids did a great job on theirs. At the end of class I showed them how they can “doll” their paintings up with extras…like a wreath for Christmas on this Flamingo. How about a Christmas Bird? Is this one you’d like to paint?

I am so proud of Logan. Just look at this amazing painting she just completed using ONLY a palette knife. AWESOME!!! I can’t believe she is a senior this year and will be leaving us soon to go off to college. She’s been painting with me since she was about 8. I often tell people what a terrific student she has been. She is one of the best color mixers I know. Did I mention I am proud of Logan???!!!!

Opinions

One of the things I love about our Adult Art classes at The Studio is that students get to know one another and feel comfortable sharing and asking for opinions on their work. Recently in class Michele painted this fabulous abstract and as she was trying to decide what it needed to finish she consulted with the other students in the class for their opinions. (Logan is giving her thoughts in this photo.) I love how everyone feels comfortable to ask one another knowing they’ll get several ideas and all will be given with encouragement. Great work Michele…and everyone in the class for wanting to help all the students do their very best. Keep painting!

Last night in our Adult Art Class we all decided to give Finger Painting a try. What fun it turned out to be….and messy! Everyone was game to paint fast and loose. And boy did they turn out great. We painted a little Koi pond with Lily Pads. Sometimes it’s fun to do something a little different. Great work everyone! If you want to get creative come join us for art class on Wednesdays at 10:30 or 5:30 or Thursdays at 2 pm. See more info here.
It was always a delight to have Jean in class. We miss her. Jean’s art will be on display at Samuels Public Library through the month of November.
