10th Birthday Paint Party

Bday Party 1Bday Party 12Bday Party 123What better way to spend your birthday than painting with your friends.  We had two Birthday Parties at The Studio this weekend. The first was Mary’s (click her to see her photo on yesterday’s blog).  And Sunday it was Kyleigh’s 10th Birthday and she had friends come join her as she opened gifts, enjoyed cute palette cupcakes that her mom brought in for them, and painted her favorite flower…an orchid.  Great job girls!

Marys Bday Party Tulips 212809578_10206083418699607_5477118135764622259_nWe have had some really great paintings at Paint Parties this weekend.  We had Mary’s Birthday Party with a terrific beach scene.  We had our second group paint the “Tulips with a View”.  And last Thursday we even painted some wonderful wine glasses.  Nothing but a good time to be had at The Studio.

20160129_195948-1.jpgLast night we had the Abstract Floral Paint Party that was suppose to be last Friday night but got delayed because of the big snow storm.  Having to wait didn’t dampen the spirits of these painters.  They did a great job on their loose, abstract flowers.

The Chamber of Commerce’s “Women in the  Know” gather every quarter to network and learn.  Last night they painted.  And they painted some wonderful fall river scenes.  Great job everyone!

Friday was a super busy day.  First we had Open Studio where I caught up with supply orders and class descriptions and a painter came in to start a new piece for a gift.  Then it was to load up all the supplies and go to Lake Frederick where we had a super fun group painting at their Paint Party.  Great work everyone!

And then back to The Studio in time to unload everything and set up for a late class with my Virginia International Academy students.  They finished up a painting we started the week before.  Fabulous!

It’s fun helping others discover how much they enjoy painting.

Famous Painters Party with Mary Cassatt

We had the October Famous Painter Party last night where we reproduced the Mary Cassatt “Lydia in the Garden Crocheting”.  Plus we love the little pup sitting in her lap.  We had a great time and the painters created beautiful paintings.

20151017_175123-1 20151017_202658-1 20151017_212016-1Yesterday I had two Paint Parties back to back.  First, we had Pet Portraits – my favorite party!  Everyone did beautiful work and have fabulous portraits of their beloved pets now.

The second party was a large group of friends getting together for a fun time and to catch up.  They painted a lovely fall landscape scene.
