Saturday was a beautiful day for a festival and we had a great one downtown Front Royal. The Wine & Craft Festival brought lots of people to Main Street and many stopped by to see us at Delilah’s.

And I worked on several paintings that day. I even had a couple of children who helped paint a little.
I used to get really nervous painting in front of others but now that I have done it so often it doesn’t bother me. I enjoy it in fact. People generally have interesting questions about painting and are very encouraging.
We had a drawing for those who came into Delilah’s to register and this was our winner. Sheron Nicodemus from Richmond was the lucky one and this was the painting she selected. I got to spend a few minutes chatting with Sheron and she was just delightful. Congratulations!
(Special thanks to Sandy Patterson for taking the photos of me painting and with Sheron.)

Two Cherries is an oil on canvas panel measuring 8″x8″ and is available for $95.
Tomorrow (Saturday) in downtown Front Royal is the Wine Festival. It’s always a good time so if you are in the area stop in tomorrow and come see us at Delilah’s. We’ll be there from 10-6 during the festival hours. Hope to see you then.

Beulah Petunia is an oil on canvas panel measuring 6″x8″ and is available for $125.
Beulah Petunia was Suzanne McMinn’s birthday present this year. She is a milk cow. If you haven’t taken the time to go the Suzanne’s blog, www.chickensintheroad.com , you must take a look. It is so fun. She describes her life on her farm in West Virginia with all her animals. And she takes the best photos of them that she posts on her blog. She gave me permission to paint from the photos and that was the impetus of my Farm Animal Series of paintings.
This is Suzanne’s photo that I used for reference.

Peony Buds is an oil on canvas panel measuring 12″x9″ and is available for $155.
Peonies are my favorite flowers. The sad thing is that they only bloom for a very short time each spring. I would love to have them year round. The other sad thing is that they are very difficult to paint. But I’m making a stab at it this year. Hopefully there will be something worth posting for you to see shortly.
