Kids Learn to Blend

Kids Pear Cherry.jpg Our lesson yesterday at the Kid’s Painting Class was on blending colors. We painted a lovely still life with Pear and Cherry and they did a great job blending the colors on the fruit. Keep up the good work kids!

Little Fruit Commission

I am working on a commission of a series of small fruit paintings.Here are the first ones. I showed you the cherries earlier this week and the change in background color. (See it here.)

Now here they are almost finished along with the two apple paintings. Each is 5″x7″, acrylic on canvas. Now I need to work on the two pear and two grape paintings. Then I will put the final touches on all of them. Look for them soon!

Changing Cherries

Sometimes when I paint I have to make a change. I started these little cherry paintings with a darker background and then changed it to lighten up the top part of the background. Often adjustments need to be made after you start. The trick is being able to see what changes are needed…and that just comes with practice.
