20170716_221708I spent some time playing with a new paper painting last week in between art camp and regular classes.  It’s a good start.  I hope to be able to do a little more this week.  We may even have time to do something similar during art camp.  It’s Modern Art week and sometimes we have time to do an extra painting when we finish our spatter and color block art.  :-)

We painted a floral painting this week in the style of Matisse.  The kids got to pick their colors and they went right to work. We talked about Matisse as I get ready to go see a Matisse exhibit in Boston.  Can’t wait to see it.

Flower Field

I start a LOT of paintings as demonstration  pieces at Paint Parties but because I try to spend time helping the painters at the party complete their paintings I don’t always have time to go back and complete the one I started.  Yesterday I had a little time to work on one I started last week at our “Finger Painting” Party and develop it further.  The photo on the right is how it looked at the end of the Paint Party.  The shot on the left is where I took the painting.  This one is and acrylic, 16″x20″ on canvas and is available for purchase at The Studio.
