During the Farm Tour last May I took lots of photos of Barns and Farms for the upcoming show at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  I have painted several including this one of a horse stall barn at Butch Eastham’s farm.

There was several children there that day so excited about seeing the horses.  I decided it would be better painting with the little girl in it so I made a change.

That’s one thing about painting.  You can always change something if you decide you would like it better another way!

I call this Farm Tour at the Eastham Barn. It is an 8″x10″ acrylic on canvas.

Also, took this photo of Little Girl when I was at the Eastham Farm that day.  Couldn’t resist showing it…

A painting that I did outdoors a year or so ago at the Bowen Farm in Rockland has been purchased by a collector in Oklahoma City.  It’s all packaged up and ready to go to the post office today…off to it’s new home in Oklahoma.  O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A, Oklahoma,  OK!  Couldn’t resist that one.  🙂

Lincoln continues to be fascinated by the large Koi fish in the pond at the cabin.  He wades into the water and watches them….and they watch him.

If I am ever unsure of where he’s run off to, I can take a look down in the water and he is often sitting there watching his fish.

We spent the weekend at our friends Sally and Bob’s farm in Southern Virginia.  And the dogs were in heaven.  Counting Jed and Lincoln there were 11!

All of Sally’s dogs are rescues, bless her heart!  And the latest is Jack.  He’s the smallest guy she’s ever had and she is besotted with him and his underbite.

Jed and Lincoln played in the water, walked, ran and played for two straight days and now they are exhausted.  Yeah!

Lincoln with a couple of his “girls”.  We decided that Lincoln is definitely a ladies man.  He loved all the girls dogs and they LOVED him.

Mean Rooster belonged to Suzanne McMinn of Chickens in the Road.com fame.  If you haven’t checked out her blog yet take a look to the left at Sites of Interest and you will see a link to her blog.  It’s terrific.

Mean Rooster chased her around the yard and she had to fend him off with a broom!

Beulah Petunia is an oil on canvas panel measuring 6″x8″ and is available for $125.

Beulah Petunia was Suzanne McMinn’s birthday present this year.  She is a milk cow.  If you haven’t taken the time to go the Suzanne’s blog, www.chickensintheroad.com , you must take a look.  It is so fun.  She describes her life on her farm in West Virginia with all her animals.  And she takes the best photos of them that she posts on her blog.  She gave me permission to paint from the photos and that was the impetus of my Farm Animal Series of paintings.

This is Suzanne’s photo that I used for reference.
