The kids painted these amazing garden works of mixed media art for their moms for Mother’s Day. They feature a little saying….”I couldn’t have picked a better MOM!” They turned out great. Nice work young artists!

When I travel I take tons of photos….both for reference for future paintings and for the memories. There is always some interesting subjects everywhere I go. Here are a few from this trip to Myrtle Beach.
I am always curious to see large wall space art in hotels and office buildings. These installations have to be attractive as well as fill large spaces. In the case of the place we are staying right now one wall is covered with a series of smaller pieces with what appears to be different designs on handmade paper. It is quite lovely. Learn from art wherever you are!
Shells along Myrtle Beach are broken and tiny pieces. What a difference than the ones I saw last year at Fernandina Beach Florida. I wonder why? I’m not good at “scientific” stuff. Yesterday we went to see flying dogs! It was so much fun watching their excitement as the excitement built up to the lunge into the water. Some were great jumpers….some were just enthusiastic. LOL It was worth the time. Here is where we found them.
The Wednesday Kid’s Class did a marvelous job painting lilacs yesterday at The Studio. Wonderful!!!!! This is an enthusiastic group of painters….each week they welcome a new challenge. Great work!

We have been having such a good time working with clay at The Studio with Denise Kupiszewski of The Mud Peddler Studio in Shepherdstown WV. She has been coming to The Studio once a month to help us to better understand clay and how we can create with it. Recently we made these botanical wall tiles. I LOVE MINE! It turned out so great that I had to do another! The white one is finished and hanging at The Studio. The grey one went back with her to her studio to dry and she will glaze it, fire it and return it to me soon. I can’t wait! Consider joining us for the next fun lesson in clay. We will meet again on Sunday May 23rd at 1 pm. We’ll have the sample piece on display soon so you can see what we’ll be making. Trust me….it will be so much fun!
