4 Lincolns It’s not too late to have a pet portrait done for Christmas.  Get your photos to me by Saturday, December 15th and I can still paint a pet portrait for you in time to make it the perfect Christmas present.  It’s a great gift for the pet lover on your list.  Contact kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com before Saturday.

This photo I call “Four Lincolns”.  Its two pet portraits I did of him right after he came to live with us.  Ain’t he cute???!!!  🙂

We had  a large kids class yesterday as we painted a winter landscape scene.  Great job everyone!

Kids class is on Thursday from 4:15-5:15 at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  Just contact kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com if you have a young artist who would like to paint with us.

Warm-up Success

Warm up 3 Warm up 4When I am on a roll painting I get up early and grab a cup of coffee and then generally take a sheet of watercolor paper divided into 6 or 8 pieces and do several quick warm-up paintings.  I try not to spend but about 15 minutes working on these just to help me loosen up and get some color ideas.  Sometimes I like what turns out.  Yesterday while cleaning up pile of old warm-ups I came across several I like.  I put them in a mat and liked them even more.  So here is Warm-up in Orange and Warm-up in Green, acrylic on watercolor paper, available for $25 each.

Wild Poppies on the Valley Floor

Wild Poppies on the Valley Floor, acrylic on canvas, 30″x40″, available for $295.

I like to do snow paintings at this time of the year but the weather feels more like this….summer!

Lincolns Sweater 2

Those of you who know my “kids” were concerned that Mamie and Jed got a new sweater crocheted but not Lincoln.   Of course I wouldn’t leave out Stinkin’ Lincoln!  Here he is in his new sweater.

Now everyone is ready for freezing weather at the dog park.
