We helped this group of amazing women kick off their bachlorette weekend with a Paint Party at The Studio on Friday. They were so much fun. I know that their weekend is going to be amazing. They came from Chicago, New York, DC, Georgia to celebrate their friend, Dana. What a great time. And of course, Lincoln loved all the attention they gave him!
Loretta loves trying new things. She just started painting with us at The Studio a few months ago. She loves to paint BIG and is up for trying every new thing. The past two weeks she created this abstract landscape piece with a palette knife. Great job Loretta. If you would like to try out new things come paint with us at The Studio on Wednesdays or Thursdays for art class. Contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com to sign up.
Teresa couldn’t make it to our Airing of the Quilts Paint Party last week so she came to our regular weekly class to make it up. Nice job Teresa. Why don’t you come join us to paint soon. Check our the schedule here.
The mural continues…..we have 3 panels almost done and the last one about halfway. Dianne is hoping for it to be done before Thanksgiving but between her schedule and mine it probably won’t be done quite that soon but certainly before Christmas. Here she is touching up the snow on our winter panel. We’ll post another update after our next session.
Covid and family commitments kept several of our Sunday banner students from our class today but Nancy and Sherry came through with two gorgeous Acorn banners. Very nice work ladies. And what a fun time getting to have time with the two of you!
Our Saturday Banner class made these amazing Acorn Banners for November. They look awesome! And we have a new yound student….Korrine. She made her first quilted piece with us yesterday and is so excited about sewing. It’s fun to help young people develop this skill. Just look at this smiling face below.
Look at these perfect Fall paintings. These painters did a terrific job on these! Nice work everyone. Check out the upcoming events at The Studio by clicking here. We have some beautiful holiday paintings coming up.
We worked at Dianne’s this past week on her mural. You see Dianne here getting ready to work on the Summer panel while Lincoln relaxes from his difficult supervisory job. 🙂 We still have a way to go but we’re getting there. More to come.
The most fun part of my job is watching new painters explore different mediums and types of painting. Mischele and Loretta are embracing all types of work from large canvases to palette knife. Keep up the good work ladies!
Quilters have lots of scraps. And it seem that where ever the scraps are stored there must be low lights and romantic music because they multiply! I have several tubs full so from time to time I try to rid myself of some by making scrappy quilts. One of my favorite is the String Quilt. I just completed this one made totally from scraps. I have enough to make about 10 more quilts!
