Pet Portraits VickiYesterday I experienced a first with a private pet portrait party.  We had 9 painters but only 2 dog portraits.  The others featured 6 horses and 1 pot-bellied pig!  It was a great group of fun people painting beautiful portraits.  Can’t wait till y’all come back in July.

Harry Potter PPHarry Potter fans…it’s time to paint!  I have had several people ask me to have a paint party with a Harry Potter theme.  Well, here it is.  This is the image we will do first.  On Tuesday, May 17th you will have your chance to paint this one!  Click here to register.

Joey & SophiaI enjoyed the private lesson with  my private students yesterday as they painted similar paintings.  Sophia painted her book still life with an apple and Joey painted his with a baseball.  Nice job!!!

Palette Knife paintingknife paint

Palette knife painting produces beautifully textured works of art.  You can work in a totally abstract way as well as produce recognizable subjects.  Plus it can be lots of fun.  You can do it.  Why not give  it a try.

Last Wednesday the kids tried their hand at palette knife painting.  It was fun and they all did a great job.  It’s exciting to experiment with something new and different.  I decided to complete the demo painting I did with the kids so that we can offer an adult version of the palette knife class.  A paint party coming soon….

Hard at Work Painting

Yesterday we had a great group painting at the Senior Center to benefit Meals on Wheels.  Our Senior Center has a wonderful staff who provide a hot meal for seniors each day as well as a variety of activities for them.

There are  many seniors in our community trying to survive on a small pension check each month.  The Center helps them in so many ways.  And they can use your help.  Donate items…they need food stuffs, clothing, etc.  They even could use knick-knacks that they use for Bingo prizes.  So when you are cleaning out closets and basements this spring consider helping the seniors by boxing up some items for them.  The smallest thing can go a long way to helping someone.  And the staff at the Senior Center would welcome your help.

Hedwig

20160420_074948 (2) I painted Hedwig as a Harry Potter themed piece trying to come up with something we can do for a Harry Potter Paint Party that I have been asked to do.  Turns out this one will be a little too difficult to do at a Paint Party so I will try to come up with something else.   Good news is this one SOLD.

Keep watching for a Harry Potter Paint Party.
