We paint Van Gogh’s Wheatfield with Crows yesterday at Art Camp. It is thought to be one of his last paintings. The kids did an excellent job on it as they learned about Post-impressionism and Van Gogh’s short, choppy strokes. Great work everyone! Art Camp continues today…..with Warhol!

The young art campers painted a “Renoir” yesterday at The Studio. They did great on a really difficult painting. All these young artists are terrific. I love seeing how proud they are when their parents/grandparents have their work framed. Keep Painting everyone!
And today we celebrate Jed’s birthday. Happy 9th Birthday sweet boy!

I have been working on a commission for my friend Sandy on and off for several months now. She had a very specific need for a long narrow painting to put over a cabinet in her dining room. She wanted in the style of Matisse with “The Dance” included as well as teapot and certain colors. She was happy with it when she picked it up. Whew!

As a history major I feel that there are several important documents that every American should read on occasion.
One of the most important is the Declaration of Independence. Several years ago I started making it a tradition to read it every Independence Day. Please take a few minutes to read it. It’s an amazing document. There is a copy here that is easy to read.
Happy Independence Day!
