Abstract Demo

Abstract RoundThis is a demonstration piece recently done for a class.  Abstract painting is interesting.  Everyone thinks it’s easy but to make a successful abstract it takes more than just slapping paint on the surface.  It’s one of those things that everyone should try at least once.

Degas Famous PainterFor our Famous Painter Night this month we painted this beautiful Degas “Rider in a Red Coat” from 1868.  And everyone did a fabulous job!  Just look at these.  So nice.  Next month’s Famous Painter night will feature Monet’s “Three Pots of Tulips”.  Click here to register.

Reen's Birthday.jpgWe had a delightful group of ladies at The Studio last night celebrating Reen’s Birthday.  What a fun way to mark your special day!  And everyone leaves with a gift…a beautiful painting.  Nice work everyone.

It was a good day!

Yesterday the international students from VIA created abstracts.  It was lots of fun and they enjoyed it.  Plus they created some terrific pieces.

Jeans FLowersI have a beautiful friend in Nashville who posted a photo of a lovely little wildflower arrangement that she made this week and she was kind enough to let me use it for a painting.  I love the simplicity of it.  Thanks Jean for sharing this with us!

Kids April 18 The kids painted these lovely rose arches yesterday.  Nice!

Play Ball!

We painted these adorable door hangers last night at The Studio.  I’m just sorry I missed getting a photo of Tammy’s before she left as she did a softball.  Super job guys!
