We channeled Georgia O’Keeffe last night as we had our Famous Painter session. We recreated this beautiful Still Life, Peach and Glass, from 1927. Don’t they look great?! Nice work ladies. Our next Famous Painter session is Tuesday, March 24th when we will paint Steinlen’s Rooster. Click here for more info and to register.

What an afternoon! We had a great group of painters that came out to try something new, something that challenged them in their painting journey. And boy, did they step up. Everyone stepped up; they soaked up the new information and did a great job. Beautiful work came out of our set-ups. Now we can’t wait till the next one. We’ll have another “Master’s Class” on Sunday, April 26th. Watch for more information and get ready to stretch your skills.

Introducing the Masters Class

We have tons of fun with Paint Parties but some people have asked to take it a step above…in other words, they want to learn more rather than just copy the follow along paint party image. With that in mind we are introducing the Masters Class. Masters Class will provide more detailed information and teach techniques for those who want to not only paint but improve their skills. In our first session we will learn to develop a painting from a live set-up to create an Expressive Still Life. The set-up will include fruits and flowers….according to what is available at the time. (These photos show some of what we may have that day.) Click here to register and join us on Sunday afternoon, February 23rd from 1-5 pm to take your art to the next level.

We will be painting this still life with oranges at a Paint Party on Friday, March 1st at 6 pm. This one was done with a grey scale underpainting. We won’t necessarily work it this way at the paint party but it’s a good exercise that helps with darks and lights in painting. You can see the process above.
