We had a wonderful group of ladies for Adele’s Birthday Paint Party last night at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  Everyone did a fabulous job painting a scene of the gazebo.  Terrific work!  And Happy Birthday Adele!!!

Paint Your Pet Workshop Jan 18

January 2014 Paint Your Pet Portrait Party

Yesterday afternoon we had another “Paint Your Pet’s Portrait” Party at the Blue Ridge Arts Council and the painters made wonderful renditions of their pets!  Just take a look.  And a couple of these folks have never painted before.  Can you believe it???!!!

After class I got to play with a couple of the “subjects” and they posed with their portraits.  Could they be any cuter?  This is Ashton and Sophie.

Paint Your Pet Workshop 1st Sat 2The 1st Saturday Paint Party was FUN yesterday.  We painted our pet’s portrait.  They all turned out fabulous!  It was a fun evening with lots of wonderful  snacks and lots of laughing.   Thanks for the fun party girls.  And your paintings are vibrant and gorgeous!  Great job!

Margaret and Adele

This afternoon is the 1st Saturday Paint Party for 2014. We are painting our own pet portraits and the class is full.  But we will be scheduling another Paint Your Own Pet Portrait soon so be looking for the date.  And tomorrow we will post the results of this afternoons party.  This photo is of Margaret and Adele who painted their pets at the last session we held.

These parties are great fun and an excellent way to try your hand at painting even if you have never painted before.  It is a fun and relaxed environment and everyone comes out of it with a successful painting.  Consider joining us next month on the 1st Saturday.  Just contact kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com to register or to find out more.

Kid’s Paint Their Own Pet Portraits

Pet Portraits 3 KodakYesterday afternoon we had the Kid’s “Paint Your Own Pet Portrait” Workshop.  It was so much fun!!!!  The kids did superb work on their portraits.  We had dogs, cats, and horses.  They were all so different and all so good!  Great job young artists.  I love seeing the enthusiasm of young painters creating beautiful art.

Many thanks to my good friend and great painter, Linda, who helped with this large group. Couldn’t have done it without your help.

We have an adult workshop today from 4-7.  Let me know if you want to come join us.

Dec Paint PartyThe December Paint Party featured a fun snow painting and everyone did a terrific job!  What a fun way to spend the afternoon.  Great job girls!

 

And the HOLIDAY ART MARKET at Griffin Tavern has been rescheduled from today to next Saturday due to snow and ice.  Be sure to come next Saturday from 1 -4.

A Walk in the SnowSnowman II It’s time for our 1st Saturday Paint Party.  Plan to join us this Saturday, December 7 from 4 -7 at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  We will be painting a winter scene similar to the ones here. Choose from a snowman scene or walking through the snow.
