Last week Jackie suggested that a winter scene similar to the Harvest Moon painting would be nice. So she set out to start one. She was kind enough to share the idea so we call all so it soon. And we like the idea so much we are going to make it a Four Seasons series. The Winter painting will be coming up on Saturday, January 4th at 2 pm. Register here so you don’t miss it.

One of my regular students, Dianne-second from the left, brought her family who are visiting from Buffalo to paint at The Studio. She often brings friends and family who are visiting to come paint something that they can take home as a memory of their visit. They did a great job!

Yesterday the admin staff at RMA finished up their day with a painting session at The Studio. They did a great job painting a fall scene and enjoyed seeing how each person approached the project. Great work!

We had our first Paint & Sip at the beautiful Reitano Vineyard last night and it was a huge success! Everyone did an amazing job painting a scene of the vineyard while sipping a little wine, enjoying some terrific snacks and having a great time with friends. If you missed it, you missed a great event. But don’t worry….we will be doing another one on Thursday, September 12th. So plan to come for the next one. You’ll be glad you did. Watch for the registration information coming soon.

Our last painting for Christmas in July Art Camp was this lovely red Christmas Barn. These kids were very enthusiastic about painting and they did a great job all week. Keep painting, kids!

One of our Wednesday evening art students, Leslie, reimagined Martin Johnson Heade’s Cattleya Orchid and Three Hummingbirds from 1871 and made it her own by recreating it into a collage piece. She painted each small piece seperately and then adhered it to a canvas raising it slightly. The effect is amazing! She even used small bits of moss to dangle from the upper trees. Great work Leslie. The patience you exhibited really paid off. It’s fabulous!
